Tottenham may have lost 4-1 on Monday evening, but we mustn’t forget how good Spurs have been this season.
The north London club have only lost one game so far this term, and they’ve been almost perfect apart from on Monday night.
Indeed, there’s been a lot to like about Spurs this season, and one player in particular has been proving all of his doubters wrong.
Speaking on ESPN, Shaka Hislop has held his hands up and stated that he was wrong about Guglielmo Vicario after his Spurs debut, claiming that he thought the Italian was nervy after his first game for Tottenham, but, since then, he’s gone from strength to strength.

Vicario was outstanding
Hislop spoke highly of the £17m goalkeeper.
“Vicario was outstanding today I thought. He was fantastic. I’ll be honest, at the start of the season I thought he looked nervy, but he’s just grown into that position incredibly well. It can’t be easy taking over from Hugo Lloris, and Vicario has come in and been simply outstanding,” Hislop said.
Insane game
If ever you needed a sign that last night’s game was truly insane, the Man of the Match was arguably the goalkeeper who conceded four goals.
Usually, when you let four goals in, you’re lambasted by fans, pundits and your manager, but Vicario has come out of this game with so much credit.
Vicario very nearly earned a point for Tottenham in this game, and while he ultimately conceded four goals, we have to say that it was one of the great goalkeeping performances of the season.
The scoreline certainly doesn’t reflect how well Vicario played in this game, and the Italian has certainly proven all of his doubters wrong now after what was, admittedly, a bit of a shaky start on his debut.
