For the first time in a while, Queens Park Rangers are using their academy players in the first-team.

There has been a dearth of talent rising up through the ranks at QPR in past several years but Steve McClaren is giving the kids a go.

With the likes of Joe Lumley, Eberechi Eze, Darnell Furlong and Bright Osayi-Samuel featuring regularly, it is clear that QPR are looking to the future.

And they have also sent several promising youngsters out on loan to aid their development elsewhere.

These include Paul Smyth and Ilias Chair, who both showcased their talent and potential over the weekend with impressive displays.

But the 21-year-old added end product to his game at the weekend, scoring two stunning late goals to salvage a draw away at high-flying Lincoln City.

The Morocco under-23 star possesses that quality to change a game and getting regular games under his belt will help him break into the QPR team next term.

Smyth headed out on loan to Accrington Stanley, who compete in League One.

And in his fourth outing for Accrington, the 21-year-old attacker scored and produced a man of the match display in a televised game against Sunderland.

The twice-capped Northern Ireland international already has two senior goals for QPR, while Chair has one.

These loan spells are proving fruitful so far and it could help them break into the QPR first-team next season.
