Real Madrid legend Iker Casillas has told Kiko Casilla that he looks “scared” on Instagram after the Leeds United stopper posted on Instagram following Tuesday night’s 3-0 win over Reading.
Casilla, 32, kept his third consecutive clean sheet as Leeds earned an excellent win over the Royals. Matuesz Klich opened the scoring, before Pablo Hernandez scored an excellent brace.
Though former Real Madrid stopper Casilla was relatively untested, he managed to keep a third clean sheet on the bounce after stopping the opposition against West Bromwich Albion and Bristol City.
Leeds sit at the top of the Championship table until Norwich play Hull on Wednesday evening, and Casilla posted on Instagram – only to be told he look scared by current Porto star and former Madrid stopper Casilla.
Casillas’ comment is translated as “You look scared”, before Casilla replies: “Here, the forwards are very scary.”
Casilla has hardly played like he is scared of strikers he has faced. Although he conceded in each of his first six games as Leeds’ first-choice stopper, he has been almost faultless between the sticks.
Now, he has formed a bond with the Leeds defence. He is beginning to show why Victor Orta and co. worked so hard to bring him to Elland Road. Casilla has definitely boosted the promotion charge.
He will need to be at his best on Saturday as Leeds take on promotion rivals Sheffield United.
