West Ham United are being linked with a move for Rafa Benitez, as the pressure mounts on Manuel Pellegrini.
According to The Mirror, the Irons are monitoring the Spaniard in case they lose patience with the ex-Manchester City man.

West Ham are winless in six matches and have slipped to 16th in the Premier League table, although they are only four points off Sheffield United in fifth.
Current Dalian Yifang manager Benitez has been linked with the Hammers before, and the Mirror say he would listen if they did come calling.
Should West Ham sack Pellegrini and get Benitez in, then it could perhaps see the club stand a chance of landing a player closely linked with the 59-year-old – Salomon Rondon.
TBR’s view – Rondon could follow Benitez
West Ham were one of a few clubs linked with Rondon before he joined Benitez in the Far East (The Mirror).
Apparently they wanted the Venezuelan after missing out on Maxi Gomez.

Rondon is clearly a huge fan of Benitez having followed him to the Chinese Super League.
He could easily have moved to an English top-flight team, but the draw of his Newcastle United manager was seemingly too strong. That, and probably an excellent financial package.
Perhaps Benitez taking up Pellegrini’s hot seat would be the catalyst for the club to land Rondon as well, and provide Sebastien Haller with a much needed partner.
