Newcastle United have begun an exciting new era in wake of their long-awaited takeover.
A consortium consisting of Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), financier Amanda Staveley, and David and Simon Reuben has taken over the Magpies.
The PIF – worth an alleged £700bn – have taken an 80 percent stake in the club after the Premier League finally approved a deal which had originally been agreed early last year.

And the new owners are expected to bring about wholesale changes at St James’ Park to turn the club from a relegation battler to a trophy challenger.
Newcastle aren’t just being linked with players and managers, but directors too.
And one report linking a top director with the Tyneside outfit has got quite a reaction from neutrals too.
According to Sky Sports, Newcastle have identified Luis Campos as a candidate for their sporting director role.

The 61-year-old, dubbed “The Wizard of Capital Gains”, is renowned for developing players, enjoying on-pitch success, making profits from sales and bringing in top replacements.
Campos – currently a free agent – turned Monaco and Lille into Ligue 1 title winners amid fierce competition from Paris Saint-Germain.
He also made huge profits on player sales during his spells at Monaco and Lille – more than £500million in only four years.
The outlet suggests Campos would view Newcastle as a similar project – a sleeping giant with big potential and a loyal, passionate fan base.
