Victor Osimhen is going to be one of the most noteworthy players in terms of transfers in 2024.
The Nigerian likely won’t be leaving Napoli this month after signing a new contract, but he has been strongly tipped for a move in the summer.
One of Osimhen’s strongest potential suitors are Chelsea. The Blues have been linked with the Nigerian for absolutely ages now, and speaking on The Done Deal Show, Ben Jacobs has been discussing this potential transfer.
Jacobs stated that Osimhen will likely be moving in the summer, but he did note that there is a chance this deal is agreed at some point this month, claiming that Chelsea are the likeliest club to strike a pre-summer agreement that would see Osimhen move at the end of the season.

Chelsea could agree Osimhen deal early
Jacobs shared his verdict on the £43m striker.
“Osimhen’s primary concern is to take his time and to move most likely in the summer of 2024, and most likely to the Premier League. I don’t think it’s locked in that it’s Chelsea or any other club. I think if there is one club that is audacious and ambitious enough to try their luck in January with a view to a summer that would most likely be Chelsea,” Jacobs said.
Done it before
We’ve seen Chelsea do this before.
This time last year all of the talk was about Christopher Nkunku heading to Stamford Bridge, and while that deal wasn’t done in the January window, the Blues did wrap up this move months before the summer window opened.
Osimhen isn’t going to move in the winter, that much seems very clear, but don’t write off the idea of Chelsea securing a summer move way in advance.
This may be a situation to keep an eye on in January and beyond.
