If rumours are true, Tottenham have just been linked with signing which could be perfect for them - opinion

Tottenham Hotspur have gone from being one of the teams to beat this season, to a side very much at a crossroads.

After recording their best ever Premier League start, they’re now five points off the top four.

A report from the Evening Standard has suggested Tottenham are already looking towards next season.

There’s plenty of uncertainty surrounding some key people at Spurs right now.

Antonio Conte’s future is up in the air, with reports even stating that the likes of Thomas Tuchel would be interested in his job.

Harry Kane’s contract runs out in 18 months, and his future is certainly undecided right now.

Even at the very top of the club, rumours are swirling about potential Qatari investment.

Despite all this speculation, plans are already afoot for the summer transfer window.

Club captain Hugo Lloris has made some high-profile mistakes this season, none more so than his own goal against rivals Arsenal.

Tottenham may now be looking to replace Lloris, and in Jan Oblak, they may have their dream signing.

The Atletico Madrid keeper has been linked with a move to Spurs, and the Slovakian international could be the perfect replacement.

Oblak could be Tottenham’s dream signing

The Evening Standard suggest that Oblak is ‘ready to move to the Premier League’.

Tottenham have been linked with a number of goalkeepers recently, but Oblak is the pick of the bunch.

His experience in the Champions League, and helping Atletico Madrid win La Liga would be invaluable.

The 30-year-old has made more than 350 appearances for Atleti, keeping 184 clean sheets.

It’s an unbelievable record, and one that has cemented his reputation as a world-class goalkeeper.

He has plenty of years at the top of the game ahead of him, although he could be very expensive.

Oblak is currently Atletico’s most expensive player, earning £350,000-a-week.

Tottenham can’t wait out his contract either, with his six-year deal set to expire in 2028.

Atleti may be coming to the end of their project under Diego Simeone.

He’s reportedly planning to leave at the end of the season, and Oblak could follow him out the door.

Oblak would be Tottenham’s dream signing, and the perfect player to replace their club captain in the summer.
