Tottenham Hotspur have enjoyed a fruitful transfer window this summer and have also impressed on the pitch.

Spurs have made seven new signings and offloaded several high-profile players surplus to requirements.

Now, Tottenham are reportedly mulling over the short-term future of one of their brightest youngsters.

Pape Matar Sarr is a player so talented, Spurs apparently received congratulations from rival suitors after they signed him.

The Athletic’s Jack Pitt-Brooke recently told Last Word on Spurs: “Sarr, I think it will be another year on loan.

“He’s still very young, I don’t think his last season at Metz was as good as his first season.

“He’s a big talent, he’s one of the best young players in the world in his position.

“I know for a fact that when Tottenham signed him they had other heads of recruitment at other clubs ringing them up saying ‘wow, you did well to get Sarr, he’s someone we wanted for a while’.

“So the club clearly think highly of Sarr, I would say another loan for him.”

It would make sense for Tottenham to send the 19-year-old out on loan to get further experience.

Serie A side Cremonese are apparently hoping to land Sarr for the season.

However, Tuttomercatoweb has now reported that these are ‘hours of reflection’ for Spurs over Sarr.

Tottenham apparently want to understand Rodrigo Bentancur’s situation better.

The Spurs midfielder suffered a blow to the head in Sunday’s win over Nottingham Forest.

Since it’s not yet known how long it will take for him to recover, Tottenham are waiting to see if they can let another midfielder leave.

Yesterday, Gianluca Di Marzio claimed Tottenham had actually made their decision and were no longer considering sending Sarr out on loan.

It remains to be seen what Spurs plan to do, but it looks as though there’s a decent chance he’ll stay.

“A lot of parallels”

If Sarr does stay as cover, Conte could well hand him his competitive debut in the coming weeks – and Spurs fans should be excited in this case.

Last year, French football expert Adam White told GiveMeSport that he feels Sarr has a similar skillset to Jude Bellingham.

When asked if there are similarities between the pair, White replied: “I think it’s a really good comparison actually.

“There’s a lot of parallels between them in terms of their ability and the positions they take up.

“And their skillset, and the job you would ask them to do in midfield as well.”
