Spurs are still in pursuit of a new manager, two months after sacking Jose Mourinho.

Tottenham came close to landing a new boss on a few occasions, but to no avail.

Spurs reportedly spoke to Antonio Conte and Paulo Fonseca, and both seemed likely to take the reins.

However, talks fell through in both cases, so Spurs are still searching for Mourinho’s successor.

Now, it looks as though Tottenham are closing in on former Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo.

Some Spurs fans aren’t pleased with the reports, citing concerns with his style of play.

But a report in The Sun from Friday night suggests there are some big stumbling blocks.

The outlet quotes a source saying: “There are still a number of issues”.

One of those is apparently Nuno wanting a major say on signings.

The problem here is that Tottenham appointed Fabio Paratici just weeks ago for that purpose.

In addition, Daniel Levy reportedly remains unconvinced by Nuno’s pragmatic style of play and reluctance to blood young players.

Nuno: Is he right for Spurs?

At the end of last season, Levy promised to appoint a new manager committed to attacking football and blooding young players.

He admitted the club “lost sight of some key priorities and what’s truly in our DNA” in an end-of-season letter to supporters.

Therefore, this managerial appointment is a big deal for Levy and Spurs.

The issues reported by The Sun aren’t small – they seem to be directly at odds with Paratici and Levy.

Therefore, if the report is true, it would suggest Nuno to Spurs is at risk of falling through.
