Tottenham face Manchester City in the FA Cup this week, and Spurs will be desperate to win this one.
After so long without a trophy, the north London club will be desperate to progress in the FA Cup.
Of course, getting the better of Manchester City is no easy task, but Spurs could be back to something close to their best heading into this game.
Indeed, with many players now returning from injury, Spurs should be able to field a strong side here.
However, Tottenham are still sweating over the fitness of James Maddison as he edges closer to a return.
Speaking on The Spurs Chat Podcast, George Sessions has been discussing the idea of Maddison returning for this game, and he says that if he had to put his mortgage on Maddison’s status here, he’d say that both he and Erling Haaland for City are going to start on the bench.

Maddison will likely start on the bench
Sessions spoke about Maddison’s fitness
“If I was putting my mortgage on it I’d say they’ll both be on the bench. I’m not so sure about Maddison. I saw a clip of him today getting a treatmnet on his ankle, but I did speak to a medical expert and I’m trying to think of the term he used, gameready I think he said, it’s basically a device that pumps cold ice to the muscle or the part of the body it’s strapped to,” Sessions said.
Could be the difference
Maddison could well be the difference-maker for Spurs on Friday if he does make an appearance off the bench against City.
Just imagine how fired up Maddison will be after months on the sidelines, and there’s no grander stage to return on than against the reigning champions in the FA Cup.
Of course, unfortunately for Tottenham, Erling Haaland may be sat in the opposite dugout with the exact same mindset, and the Norwegian could prove to be an even bigger difference-maker than Maddison.
This should be a fantastic game, that’s for sure.
