Idrissa Gueye sends Twitter message after Everton beat Lincoln

Idrissa Gueye posted on Twitter after Everton beat Lincoln City on Wednesday night – and some Toffees fans responded by stating they miss their former midfielder.

Marco Silva’s team booked their spot in the third round of the Carabao Cup after winning away 4-2 at League One outfit Lincoln.

Lucas Digne, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Alex Iwobi and Richarlison were all on the scoresheet for the Merseyside club, as they set up a trip to Sheffield Wednesday in the next round of the cup.

Gueye, who left Goodison Park for Paris Saint-Germain in the summer, sent a message on Twitter saying “good job boys” in response to Everton’s victory.

He also gave defender Digne a special mention after his stunning left-footed free-kick from range.

A selection of Everton supporters on social media reacted to Gueye’s post on Twitter and wish he never left in the summer.

The 29-year-old defensive midfielder has linked up with French giants PSG and was a key figure during his three years on Merseyside.

It’s up to the likes of Fabian Delph, Andre Gomes and Morgan Schneiderlin to fill the void he’s left in the centre of the park.

Here are some Everton fans replying to Gueye’s message on Twitter.
