Arsenal legend Ian Wright has urged Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp to start new signing Darwin Nunez in the next Premier League match.

Speaking on the Kelly & Wrighty show, Wright said that he wants to see Nunez starting games for Klopp’s side as soon as possible.

The 23-year-old was named as a substitute in Liverpool’s Premier League opener against Fulham on Saturday but had a huge impact on the game when he came off the bench.

The Uruguayan bagged his first Premier League goal and set up Mohammed Salah for Liverpool’s second of the afternoon as Klopp’s men drew 2-2 at Craven Cottage.

Such was the former Benfica man’s impact, Wright has now urged Klopp to hand the striker a starting position in Liverpool’s front-three.

“The way that Liverpool play, he’s going to get chances, and I’d like to see him start,” Wright said on the Kelly & Wrighty show.

“I’d like to see him in there and starting so I can see him for the whole 90 and how he moves and what they’re going to do to get the ball into him because once they see what they’re doing, just like with [Erling] Haaland, they are just going to keep feeding it into him because he looks like someone who really does attack the box well.

“I’m starting to feel like I want him to start now, especially if I’m one of the lads, you want him to start now.”

Wright urges Klopp to start Nunez

There’s no denying the impact Nunez had on the game on Saturday and he also bagged a goal against Manchester City in the Community Shield just a week before.

The Liverpool striker caused both defences serious problems after being introduced by Klopp and has looked like a constant goal threat when he has played.

Roberto Firmino failed to have a similar impact against Fulham and Klopp could take Wright’s advice and hand Nunez his first Premier League start against Crystal Palace on Monday night.
