'I'd like to': £149k-a-week World Cup star says he wants Premier League move, after claims Arsenal could sign him

World Cup star Adrien Rabiot has now said he wants to move to the Premier League, after claims Arsenal could sign him.

Arsenal will seemingly be on the lookout for midfield reinforcements in January after missing out on Douglas Luiz over the summer.

Mikel Arteta has been left slightly short in terms of midfield depth, with just Mohamed Elneny and Albert Sambi Lokonga as back-up options to Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka.

The Gunners have been linked with a move for Juventus star Rabiot, with Calciomercato reporting last month that the north London outfit are open to the idea of signing him.

Now, the Frenchman has admitted that he would love to play in England one day, 14-years after a short spell in Manchester City’s academy.

Rabiot wants Premier League move

Rabiot spoke in a press conference yesterday ahead of France’s quarter-final clash with England.

The 27-year-old admitted that he wishes to return to England and doesn’t have a preference over which side he joins.

“It was very good experience. I didn’t do a whole season, though,” Rabiot said.

“Everything went well while I was there. I really liked the atmosphere. It’s really something that is only in England. It’s different from France and Italy.

“I have always said that I’d like to play in England in my career. I still have that desire. I’d like to evolve in the Premier League.

“I haven’t got a Premier League team in mind right now. I haven’t chosen a team or anything. It’s a general thing.”

“It’s the league, it’s the level of play that’s going on, that’s what attracts me most. It corresponds to my qualities.” as transcribed by the Athletic

Rabiot is enjoying a brilliant World Cup with France and has really stepped up in the absence of both Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kante.

The £149,00-a-week man’s form has been slightly patchy for Juve but he is certainly catching the eye in Qatar.

The Frenchman has been linked with moves to a host of Premier League clubs, including the likes of Tottenham, Newcastle United and Liverpool.

Rabiot could be a brilliant addition to Arteta’s squad, providing Arsenal get the player who has shown up at the World Cup. But the Gunners may have more pressing concerns after Gabriel Jesus’ injury.
