Auston Trusty may never play a single minute for Arsenal.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Charles Watts was discussing the American defender amid a number of links to Rangers, and the journalist has stated that he’d be very surprised if Trusty played a single game for the Gunners.
Trusty, of course, only signed for Arsenal 18 months ago, but he was immediately shipped out on loan to Birmingham City and he now looks set to be sold this summer.

Trusty could leave without playing a game
Watts gave his verdict on the 24-year-old’s Arsenal hopes.
“Auston Trusty has been linked with Rangers. I think he’s had a fantastic loan spell at Birmingham this season, he’s never played for Arsenal and I don’t think he will, I’d be surprised if he does,” Watts said.
“We’ll see if he goes on the US tour it might make sense to have Trusty there for that. I did an interview with him a couple of months ago and he said that his dream is to make a name for himself at Arsenal, but I don’t know. It was a good deal to make some money on, he’s just been Birmingham Player of the Year, cash in, make some money and move on.”
Strange one
This was a very strange signing from Arsenal in the first place.
Look, bringing in players from untapped markets such as MLS can work a treat at times, but in Trusty’s case he never looked to be an Arsenal player in the making.
Signed at the age of 23, Trusty didn’t have loads of room to grow, and the fact he was sent out to the Championship straight away tells you exactly what Arsenal thought of his ability.
He’ll likely be sold this summer, and Arsenal may pocket a profit, but this signing has to go down as one of the more bizarre ones from Edu.
