'I'd be delighted': Some Crystal Palace fans react to transfer rumour involving Leeds
Crystal Palace fans have taken to Twitter to react after Football London revealed that Conor Gallagher has spoken to Leeds and Patrick Vieira.
What’s the story?
Well, it was no secret that Crystal Palace were eyeing the Chelsea prospect.
The Athletic believe Crystal Palace’s interest in the 21-year-old has been persistent.
Now, the Eagles have managed to get Gallagher to speak to Vieira, according to Football London.
However, in Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds, there is a very tough competitor for the Chelsea man’s services.
Football London believe Leeds put together a very impressive presentation in a bid to convince Gallagher to join them.
The England Under-21 star then spoke to Vieira and Crystal Palace’s Sporting Director Dougie Freedman over FaceTime.
There might be an issue
It’s possible that neither Crystal Palace or Leeds sign Gallagher.
Football London add that he’s extremely keen to break into Chelsea’s first-team and impress Thomas Tuchel during pre-season.
That could throw a spanner in the works for Vieira and Bielsa, if Gallagher does go on to enjoy an eye-catching pre-season, that is.
However, Football London mention that he is still assessing the options in front of him, as he doesn’t want to be a benchwarmer in 2021/22.
Let’s see how the Crystal Palace fans on Twitter reacted to the news…
Decision time for Gallagher. I wouldn't fancy our chances with Roy still in charge, but hopefully with Vieira and the pull of staying in London it might swing it our way. https://t.co/2hY0lIzKx7— E-Crystal Palace (@e_crystalpalace) July 23, 2021

I'd be delighted if we could land him I can't quite help think that Leeds playing style, playing in front of Kalvin Phillips would suit him more. https://t.co/WMXVRBXD8b— 𝕵.𝕲 (@se25jg) July 23, 2021
Wish we could just buy him. Bored of getting loans from Chelsea now.— Dean (SkyFF) (@deanmiles23) July 23, 2021
Get this lad in. Lookman and hopefully Nelsson or another CB and we’ll be good to go— Kade The Blade (@kade_bladeSE25) July 23, 2021
Unpopular opinion: I'd prefer we stop loaning without options to buy even if this means the players we get aren't quite as good.— Chris K (@Szuumm) July 23, 2021
