‘Ice cold’: Some Arsenal fans wowed by 29-year-old after Euro 2020 display

RB Leipzig’s Emil Forsberg starred for Sweden on Wednesday at Euro 2020 – and some Arsenal fans on Twitter were left amazed by the star’s performance.

Forsberg helped his country beat Poland 3-2 in the final game of the group stages, as they secured top spot in Group E ahead of Spain.

As a result, Sweden will face Ukraine in the Euros Round of 16. In addition, the winner of that tie will face either England or Germany in the quarter-finals.

Forsberg has had a superb tournament so far, scoring three goals during the three matches in the group stages.

The 29-year-old attacker is part of an eye-catching Sweden side that are surprising some people, so they’ll fancy their chances against Ukraine next Tuesday.

Arsenal fans loved watching Forsberg

With no club football right now, a lot of Arsenal fans will be tuned into Euro 2020 to watch some of the world’s best players.

A selection of them were wowed by Forsberg on Wednesday.

Firstly, he opened the scoring inside just two minutes with a clinical left-footed finish. After that, the Swedish maestro hit a first-time finish on the edge of the box with his right foot. In conclusion, it was a superb attacking performance that highlighted his quality.

His form at the tournament is excellent, so German Bundesliga side Leipzig will hope he can carry that into next season with them.

He managed nine goals and six assists in 41 games across all competitions last season for Leipzig.

There are some Arsenal supporters who claim he would be a success at the Emirates Stadium, but he’s never played in English football before in his career.

Forsberg has got the versatility to play several attacking positions and is growing in confidence at the Euros, so he’s a star to watch out for in the knockout rounds.

Similarly, international teammates Alexander Isak and Dejan Kulusevski are also catching the eye.

Forsberg linked to Emirates back in 2018

SportExpressen reported back in 2018 that Arsenal, along with Juventus and Atletico Madrid, were keen to sign Forsberg.

However, he ended up remaining with Leipzig.

Aged 29, it would be intriguing to see him join the Premier League during the prime years of his career. But, there are no signs of that right now in the media.

Arsenal do still have plenty attacking talent of their own to focus on. For example, Gabriel Martinelli is a rising star at the north London club that will be hoping to kick on again next season.

Additionally, they have the likes of Nicolas Pepe, Willian, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka to select.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta does have attacking ammunition.

They may not own Forsberg, but possibly they have their own version in 20-year-old academy graduate Smith Rowe.

There are definitely similarities in the way they can pick up clever pockets of space, influence games and come alive in the final third of the pitch.

Here are some Arsenal fans though discussing Forsberg after his yesterday’s performance at Euro 2020:
