Arsenal have announced the signing of highly-rated young forward Nikolaj Moller from Swedish outfit Malmo.

The 18-year-old, described by the Gunners website as a “powerful striker and prolific goalscorer”, will link up with the club’s Professional Development Phase this season.

According to The Independent, Arsenal will pay a fee in the region of £450,000 for Moller, with the player committing to a four-year contract.

Moller has spent most of his youth career in Sweden, but he also spent time in Italy with Bologna’s academy before returning to Malmo.

The 6ft 2in ace has been nicknamed “Ibra”, after compatriot and fellow striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who also featured for Malmo early on in his career.

Steve Bould will initially be in charge of Moller’s development with the Under-23 squad this term and will update Mikel Arteta on his development, added The Independent.

Here is what some Arsenal fans said on social media about the new Hale End arrival:

Arsenal’s Under-23s will be back in action on Saturday 17 October when they host their Manchester United counterparts in the Premier League 2.
