Arsenal need to start moving on from Frenchman Alexandre Lacazette, according to former Gunners striker Ian Wright.

Wright obviously knows a thing or two about leading the line for Arsenal and feels that Mikel Arteta needs an upgrade in that area of the pitch.

Speaking on his Wrighty’s House podcast, the BBC pundit actually said that he thinks Arsenal already have someone in mind to be their new striker.

“We’re going to have to start [looking at Lacazette], said Wright.

“And I think they already have someone in mind. It’s the next part of our development. We need a striker who is going to help.”

Lacazette has been a decent servant for Arsenal, but he is a level below the true elite and does not contribute the same level of goals.

The likes of Harry Kane and Roberto Firmino also drop deep but they get their share of goals and also have ruthless finishers around them.

At present, it looks like Arsenal need that new, elite frontman to help propel them to the next level, although of course the immediate priority is getting into the Champions League.

That would help attract the right quality of player and it will be interesting to see in the months ahead if Arsenal do have someone in mind that they are working on.
