On Sunday, Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch claimed his first win at the third attempt.

The Whites had lost their first two games under their new manager, before dramatically beating Norwich 2-1 at Elland Road.

Marsch has also been proactive in communicating with his players and, according to The Athletic, has expanded Leeds’ “leadership council”.

Kalvin Phillips, Patrick Bamford and Rodrigo are now part of the leadership group of senior players alongside the likes of Liam Cooper, Luke Ayling, Stuart Dallas and Adam Forshaw.

Marsch has a huge job on his hands at Leeds but, after beating Norwich, the Whites have a good springboard upon which to kick on.

Ian Wright, speaking on the Wrighty’s House podcast, spoke about the new Elland Road manager.

He revealed what his son Bradley Wright-Phillips – who played under Marsch at New York Red Bulls – had told him about the 48-year-old.

And it’s good news for Leeds fans, according to the Premier League legend.

“He was the one the other day telling me about Jesse Marsch and how he thinks he will do well here because the players are going to love him,” said Wright.

“He’s very good on the training field and stuff like that.”

Last week, Wright also spoke about what Wright-Phillips said about Marsch.

“I asked Brad, ‘What’s he going to be like?’ he said on Match of the Day 2 on BBC One (13/3/22, 22:57)

“He said, ‘Very meticulous, he does a lot of work on the training field with the boys.

“‘And he is somebody that is brilliant at man-management. The boys are going to love him’.”

Leeds are next in Premier League action on Friday night, when they head to Wolves.
