Ian Wright shares what he noticed about Tottenham star Harry Kane in NLD
Ian Wright has shared on his podcast what he noticed about Tottenham star Harry Kane on Sunday – suggesting he is not in the right frame of mind.
Kane, 28, has remained at Tottenham after a summer’s worth of speculation and rumours over his future. Eventually, his move to Man City fell through.
The Tottenham star has just three goals this season, which have come in the Europa Conference League and the Carabao Cup. He is struggling for form.
In the Premier League, he is yet to score, despite starting his side’s last four games against Watford, Palace, Chelsea and then Arsenal on Sunday.
Arsenal legend Wright was delighted with his old club’s performance – before delivering a verdict on Kane. He shared what he noticed about him.
“I’m looking at Harry Kane. I don’t know what frame of mind he is in. I tell you what I saw for the second goal, I saw him get caught,” Wright said.
“He didn’t know what he was actually doing to the point where he miss-kicked it, tried to drag it back and then we won the ball.
“It was interesting. He wasn’t attacking the box. He’s not making the movements he should be making.”

But one thing will change Kane. Scoring his first Premier League goal of the season will get him back on track – but he looks unlikely to do so.
Spurs take on Mura on Thursday in the Europa Conference League, before hosting Villa on Sunday. Two wins are expected, needed and crucial.
But if they are to get two decent results, then Spurs need Kane to rediscover his shooting boots. He needs to play as a striker, not a midfielder.
Against Arsenal, he was dropping far too deep – even chasing Bukayo Saka 60 yards, only for his tackle to deflect back to Saka and result in a goal.
Kane is out of luck, out of form and struggling to focus. If Spurs are to stop the rut, they need the England star to get back into the right frame of mind.
