Ian Wright says PSG would be ‘frightening’ with Tottenham player in their side

Ian Wright has told the Wrighty’s House podcast that he thinks Mauricio Pochettino’s Paris Saint-Germain would be “frightening” with the addition of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli, as the England ace continues to be linked.

Dele, 24, has been ostracised somewhat by Jose Mourinho this season – managing just four Premier League appearances, three of which have come from the bench. The Mirror claims PSG are ready to go back in for Dele.

The report says PSG were rejected three times by Tottenham in pursuit of Dele in the summer but are ready to return, while Pochettino has stated that he is open to the likes of Alli or Lionel Messi joining his new club.

Speaking about a potential move to France, Wright feels as though Alli would suit PSG and feels alongside the likes of Angel Di Maria, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe would bring the best out of Alli – and make PSG “frightening”.

“Poch will get them as a team,” Wright said. “If Poch can get them to work as a team, and then pop Dele Alli in there and you still have Di Maria, that looks a little bit frightening, dangerous – a Dele Alli with a point to prove.”

TBR’s view – Surely it is a no-brainer for Alli and PSG?

Slightly slower than the Premier League, French football might suit Alli – certainly, playing in a side under Pochettino that are expected to win matches week in, week out, should see the England ace thrive.

It has been talked about aplenty. Alli needs to move to save his career, Euro 2021 is on the horizon and he simply does not fit Jose Mourinho’s style of play. It is a no-brainer for Alli to move and if PSG want him, Spurs should not stand in his way.
