Ian Wright says Liverpool have an 'extraordinary' player in their ranks

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has been praised by Ian Wright, who deemed the Anfield ace a “machine”.

The Reds goal machine has been sensational for Jurgen Klopp’s side since joining in 2017.

Salah was a crucial member of the Reds team which won the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup in 2019.

He then followed that up by helping Liverpool to their first English top-flight title since 1990.

Last Sunday, Salah registered his 100th Premier League goal, scoring in the 3-0 win over Leeds.

And on Wednesday, the Egypt international provided an assist for the Liverpool opener against Milan in the Champions League.

On the Wrighty’s House podcast, Wright spoke about Salah’s development since joining the Reds.

“We have to talk about Mo Salah,” said the Arsenal and England icon. “He’s an extraordinary goalscorer.

“I remember him at Chelsea, when Arsene Wenger had his 1000th game against Chelsea,

“They lost 6-0, Hazard had his way with them and Salah scored the 6th goal.

“He ran from the halfway line and finished it, and when he finished it I thought ‘wow’, he took it so easily.

“He went to Roma and did it in Rome, then he came to Liverpool and got 32 goals in 36 and I thought this guy is a goalscoring machine.”
