Ian Wright has told Wrighty’s House that he was left devastated for Patrick Bamford after the striker suffered another injury setback for Leeds United before the international break.
Leeds have been dealt another blow in their battle to stay in the Premier League. The club confirmed last week that Bamford is set to miss a minimum of six weeks due to a foot injury.

That makes a return this season highly unlikely. The news probably did not come as a huge surprise to the striker himself.
Bamford was taken off against Wolves. And he looked absolutely distraught on the bench, with the likes of Liam Cooper and Kalvin Phillips trying to console the England international.

It seemed a massive setback for Leeds, but also for Bamford. The 28-year-old has only managed to make seven starts in the Premier League this term due to a range of issues.
Bamford was making only his second league start since September at Molineux. And Wright outlined just how gutted he was for the forward as he discussed Kalvin Phillips being eased back into the fold for Jesse Marsch’s side.
“They try to hold you back so you don’t break down, as we’ve seen with Patrick Bamford, because you’re under pressure and you’re needed,” he told Wrighty’s House.
“You want to get back, the team wants you back, fans are constantly saying you’re back.
“I cannot even try to get into the headspace of the pressure that guy is under. So to see him back I just pray to God they manage him so it’s not a breakdown situation like with Patrick. I was devastated for Patrick, I just hope that doesn’t happen with Kalvin.”
Would be huge for Leeds if Patrick Bamford could make return this season
Of course, the scars of the last few months will probably mean that Leeds ease Bamford back as much as possible. But clearly, the Whites remain in a precarious situation in the Premier League.
So if their position goes right down to the wire, there is absolutely no doubt that Bamford returning this season could be absolutely massive.
Leeds currently look a different side when Bamford is leading the line. And he has already scored two crucial goals this term.
In fact, he may not even need to play. The returns of Liam Cooper and Phillips to the squad provided such a big boost even before they stepped onto the pitch.
So it could even make a real difference if Marsch is able to just put Bamford back in the squad before the campaign concludes.
