Ian Wright has admitted on Wrighty’s House that Curtis Jones was not too happy with his reaction when Jadon Sancho scored against Liverpool in the Reds’ surprise defeat on Monday.
Jurgen Klopp’s men are still searching for their first win this season. And worryingly, Liverpool were extremely poor at Old Trafford.

Obviously, the visitors had their moments. Mohamed Salah scored during the second-half to hand the Reds a lifeline. But Manchester United did not look like a side who had lost their opening two games in largely embarrassing fashion.
Erik ten Hag made a brave decision by dropping both Harry Maguire and Cristiano Ronaldo. And in their absences, both Marcus Rashford and Sancho stepped up.

The pair have come in for a lot of criticism over the last couple of years. And that left Wright applauding both players when they got onto the scoresheet on Monday.
He insisted that he was not supporting either side, but rather just happy to see both players show signs of their old form. However, his reaction managed to frustrate Jones, who was also watching from the sidelines.
“When Jadon Sancho scored, you get up and clap,” he told Wrighty’s House. “And I don’t want them to think, ‘oh why are not clapping? Who are you supporting? Liverpool?’.
“Curtis Jones was watching it with us. So when I got up and I was clapping Jadon, I said I’m so pleased for Jadon, he went like that to me, like ‘sit down’ with his face.”
Curtis Jones not too happy with Ian Wright
You can certainly understand Jones’ disappointed reaction. Not only is he a Liverpool player, but he is also a Liverpool lad, so he will absolutely understand what the result means for the club and the fans.
The 21-year-old will have been desperate to have been out there. Liverpool are really struggling in the middle of the park right now. So Jones will be raring to go once he recovers from injury.
It is probably fair to say that the Reds will be delighted to have him back also.
