Arsenal icon Ian Wright has now been sharing his praise for one of the club’s stars who continues to shine at Euro 2024.

After starting the tournament with 11 representatives, Mikel Arteta now only has five players to watch at Euro 2024.

And of those five, only Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice and William Saliba are starters – arguably the club’s three best players.

The trio could meet in the final were they successful against the Netherlands and Spain respectively.

And if that were to be the case, then Arsenal fans would be treated to a fascinating episode of Saka vs Saliba, a duel that belongs at the very top of world football.

That being said, when reflecting on England’s win against Switzerland on Saturday evening, Wright has now been sharing his thoughts on Saka’s individual display.

Saka played as a right wing-back for Gareth Southgate and executed the role exceptionally – another string to his bow.

And when speaking on the ‘Wrighty’s House’ podcast, the Arsenal legend expressed that Saka has been consistently a cut above his England teammates this summer.

Ian Wright says Bukayo Saka has been on a ‘unbelievable’ journey since penalty miss

Right now, many have Saka in their Euro 2024 team of the tournament despite how England have mostly underwhelmed.

And when praising the Arsenal winger’s form, Wright said Saka’s journey from his penalty miss at Euro 2020 has been ‘unbelievable’.

Speaking on the podcast, Wright said: “I am so pleased. His performances for England since he has been in there, it’s very, very difficult to point your finger at him and say he has not performed like other people have performed below par.

“The journey he has been on from the missed penalty to now is just an unbelievable trajectory of positivity.”

Of course, it’s remarkable to think that not so long ago many England fans were calling for Saka to be dropped for Cole Palmer.

Thankfully, Southgate recognises the worth of the Arsenal man, who is quickly becoming his country’s most important player.

Fortunately for Arsenal fans, Rice is also in that same bracket, who delivered another understated display on Saturday evening.

And interestingly, after the win against Switzerland, Rice sent a two-word message to a striker who Arsenal have been linked with this summer
