Tottenham Hotspur are monitoring Trevoh Chalobah with the defender considering his Chelsea future this summer, according to a report from the Evening Standard.
The report noted that Chalobah has concerns over game-time with the Blues in talks to sign Wesley Fofana. And with that, Spurs have joined the queue of clubs monitoring the 23-year-old.

Chalobah would be an interesting signing for Tottenham. He has certainly shown glimpses of his quality during his time at Stamford Bridge. But obviously, he is not yet the finished article.
Nevertheless, Antonio Conte was the manager to promote Chalobah to the first-team for the first time back in 2018. And he is someone being tipped for an incredibly bright future.

‘My god, he’s really good’
In fact, Ian Wright once compared Chalobah to Virgil van Dijk. While he suggested that they are not the same player, he did explain how he caught the eye while out on loan.
“Watching him against Arsenal, I was thinking, ‘wow, maybe it’s just a pre-season friendly but he looks good’,” he told Wrighty’s House in 2021 (via Mirror).
“I watched him against Villarreal [in the Super Cup] and I thought, ‘my god he’s really good’.
“You know what he reminded me of, not the same player, not the same stature, but the way Virgil Van Dijk when he played for Celtic, people said he’s just taking liberties just because he’s good and not in the same standard [as others].
“I watched him play for Ipswich a couple of times where he played in that vain where you think I’d like to see him against better quality.”
Tottenham monitoring Chalobah
A move to Spurs would be an intriguing one for the youngster. He would face a similarly tough task trying to break into Conte’s side.
Tottenham summer signing Clement Lenglet has barely featured since arriving on loan. So Chalobah’s path to the first-team may not be that much clearer.
But he does know Conte. And the Italian is clearly an admirer of the former England under-21 international. So if he feels compelled to leave Stamford Bridge, perhaps staying in London and joining Tottenham would be an appealing option for the versatile defender.
