Ian Wright has told Match of the Day that Bryan Gil was fantastic for Tottenham Hotspur in their emphatic win over Crystal Palace on Wednesday, praising his desire to always get onto the ball.
Gil kept his place in the side for the trip to Selhurst Park with Dejan Kulusevski still sidelined. He had been handed a start in the loss to Aston Villa at the weekend.

The 21-year-old has endured a difficult time since his £22 million move to North London. He has struggled for game-time. And it would surprise few if he ended up leaving in one of the coming windows. However, he has now left Conte with a little food for thought.
Ian Wright praises Bryan Gil after Tottenham win
Spurs went on to win 4-0 after a superb second-half against the Eagles. And Gil more than played his part in helping Tottenham get the three points.

He provided the assist for Harry Kane’s second goal, threading a brilliant pass through to the striker from out wide. He also worked incredibly hard for the visitors, winning a couple of challenges.
And Wright suggested that he was extremely impressed by what he saw from Gil on Wednesday.
“He was very good. I watched him against Villa, it didn’t quite work out for him there. Looks a bit light and a bit diminutive. But what I love about him is he always wants the ball. And he’s always busy. He’s got a lovely touch on him and he’s not afraid to take people on,” he told Match of the Day.
“He’s got a very, very good left foot. To be honest, he was doing very well, coming back defending as well. The creativity side of it was brilliant. His movement, his touch, his appreciation for where people were.
“This is a fantastic pass from him. Good disguise, great pass into Harry Kane,” he added, when discussing the assist.
“He was fantastic today.”
Could performance have impact on winger’s future?
The challenge for Gil is proving that he deserves a prolonged run in the side. When everyone is fit, he is behind Kulusevski and Richarlison in the pecking order.
It is somewhat similar to what happened to Steven Bergwijn last season. Of course, the Dutchman scored twice at Leicester. And that seemed to take a potential January move off the table – which really did no one any favours.
Gil obviously has the potential to make an impact in the Premier League. But it does seem that Conte is not entirely convinced about the youngster.
So it will be interesting to see if his display against Palace has any impact on his future at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
