Ian Wright posts 11-word Instagram verdict, Liverpool make contract decision

Ian Wright has posted a 11-word Instagram verdict after Liverpool handed Andy Robertson a new contract at Anfield until the summer of 2026.

Robertson, 27, returned to the bench on Saturday as Liverpool eased past Burnley at Anfield, winning 2-0. He has recovered from an ankle issue.

Joining the club from Hull City in 2017, Robertson has already clocked up 177 games in four years. During that time, he has laid on 37 assists.

Seen as a bargain signing at the time, little would have predicted how good he has become. He is considered one of the best left-backs in world football.

Taking to Instagram after putting pen to paper on a deal for the next five years, Robertson posted twice. His second is a video of him signing a deal.

The new deal sees Liverpool announce another contract for a key player, in Robertson. He is unlikely to be the last, either, as Liverpool tie down stars.

Fabinho, Alisson, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold have all put pen to paper. Now, Robertson will remain at Liverpool until he is 32.

Jordan Henderson should follow suit despite reports that there was doubts over his future. PSG and other clubs have been linked, as per The Athletic.

Arsenal legend Wright gave his reaction, posting a touching message to Robertson on Instagram. He stated Robertson was more than deserving.

In other Liverpool news, Xherdan Shaqiri has also been busy on Instagram. The Swiss star has sent a touching message to Liverpool fans.
