Kalvin Phillips appears to have played down any concerns over his fitness following Leeds United’s win over Reading on Saturday as the midfielder responded to Ian Wright on Instagram.
Marcelo Bielsa’s men have moved five points clear of the chasing pack in the Championship. Pablo Hernandez’s second-half strike was enough to see off the Royals at Elland Road.

But it was not an entirely positive afternoon for the home side. Phillips had to be taken off during the first-half after making a robust challenge.
The 24-year-old went down shortly after making the tackle. And it appeared that his afternoon was over as he walked gingerly towards the sideline. However, he did initially come back on.

Unfortunately for Leeds, his return to the pitch was brief. And he was soon replaced by Gjanni Alioski.
With Phillips proving to be a revelation since his return from suspension, Leeds fans would have been forgiven for keeping everything crossed that the problem was not too serious.
And appears that Phillips has alleviated a lot of those fears on social media following a message from Wright in response to his Instagram post.
Phillips commented on the victory. And that prompted Wright to wish the Englishman well. And encouragingly, Phillips suggested that the problem was not too severe…

Leeds adapted superbly after losing Phillips. Nevertheless, it will be a huge boost for Bielsa’s men if he is back quickly.
Phillips has been outstanding in recent weeks. He looks determined to prove a point after his red card against Queens Park Rangers. And Leeds have struggled when having to field a replacement in his role.
It will provide the fans with a massive lift if his absence proves to be a very brief one.
