Ian Wright has told Wrighty’s House that Gabriel Jesus is an elite striker following his performance at the weekend, in comments that will certainly excite Arsenal supporters.

Jesus was the star of the show on Saturday as Manchester City thrashed Watford 5-1 at the Etihad Stadium. The Brazilian scored four times as Pep Guardiola’s men continued to set the standard in the Premier League.

It would appear however, that Jesus may well be on the move in the coming months. Reports have claimed that Arsenal have been in talks with the 25-year-old’s representatives for a little while.

In fact, it was suggested on Monday that personal terms looked to be done and dusted. So it would seem that agreeing a fee may be the only hurdle Arsenal have to clear before they add the striker to their ranks.

And one person who would likely be delighted to see Jesus end up at the Emirates is Wright. The Premier League hall-of-famer insisted that he is a massive fan of the striker as he reflected on his latest display.

“He was awesome. He popped up everywhere, he was everywhere. It was a complete performance,” he told Wrighty’s House. “People will say it’s Watford and they gave him time and space but that’s how Jesus plays, he was everywhere.

“Anywhere he pops up he knows exactly what he’s doing in that particular part of the pitch. He’s elite, another elite player.”

Arsenal may bank on Gabriel Jesus thriving as the main man

Jesus has never quite been able to establish himself as a key man for Manchester City since his £27 million move. So it may well be a move that all parties are on board with this summer.

Arsenal meanwhile, may feel that Jesus has a lot to give as the main man. And thus, they may be banking on him really taking his game to the next level as the focal point in the side.

Certainly, Wright may well feel that it could be a real coup for Arsenal if they end up getting a deal for Jesus across the line.
