Ian Wright has told the Kelly and Wright Show on Optus Sport that he feels “sad” for Tottenham striker Harry Kane. Manchester City are continuing to push for the England skipper – but Spurs are sticking to their guns. Wright sympathises for Tottenham star Kane amid interest from Manchester City.
Kane, 28, was stunning for Spurs last season. Winning the golden boot and playmaker awards, he did so in a side that finished in seventh place. A new report from Fabrizio Romano on Thursday says that Manchester City are ready to improve their initial £100million offer – to £127million.
But Daniel Levy wants £150million for his talisman. Kane has been absent from training, while Kane himself has posted a statement – explaining why he did not turn up initially. Arsenal icon Wright has said that he feels sorry for Kane if Manchester City are not doing everything to get the “cherry”.
“If they get Kane it is good night,” Wright said. “Give Tottenham what they want. In that team, it is good night nurse. He is the icing on the cake, the cherry, everything. If they’re not doing that, then I feel sad for Kane. I cannot even get into vicinity of where his brain is – his heart, his emotions.”

Wright on Kane: Can Manchester City find Tottenham agreement?
Yes. But it is simple. Tottenham will only accept the sale of Harry Kane unless they receive a fee of £150million. Manchester City can afford it and if they are willing to pay as much as £127million – then they can afford another £23million. That is, despite the £100million signing of Jack Grealish.
For Kane, it is make-or-break time. It could be the reason behind his questionable decision to remain absent from training. In hindsight, Kane is wrong to have put pen to paper on a six-year deal at Tottenham. While it is easy to feel sad for Kane, Levy is protecting Tottenham – and rightly so.
