Tammy Abraham scored again for Roma, earning Instagram praise from Ian Wright and Joe Willock – after Arsenal missed out last summer.

Abraham, 23, left Chelsea after 30 goals in 82 games to join Jose Mourinho’s Roma. He has got off to a brilliant start; five goal involvements in seven.

Scoring three times, he has also laid on two assists for Mourinho’s men. On Thursday, he netted the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win over Udinese.

It comes after Roma pipped Arsenal to the England striker’s signature. Corriere Dello Sport outlines three reasons why Roma beat Arsenal.

They say the number nine shirt, the role as first-choice striker and a wage of £73,000 a week tempted Abraham into joining Roma – over Arsenal.

Posting on Instagram, Abraham underlined his delight after adjusting his body to tap home Riccardo Calafiori’s cross – sending a message to fans.

Wright and Willock react: Abraham shines after Arsenal decision

Abraham would have been a brilliant signing for Arsenal. Many forget that the England ace is still only 23, and still has plenty of years left to grow.

He has scored goals wherever he has been. Chelsea, Villa, Bristol City. Now, he is scoring goals in a different league, a club with the pressure of Roma.

Abraham has starred for Roma – while Arsenal need a forward. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is hit and miss, while the Gunners could sell two.

Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette are both out of contract in June 2022 and if a decent offer comes in in January – they will surely be sold.

Wright and Willock reacted on Instagram to Abraham’s post, with Gunners legend Wright telling Abraham that he is “killing it”.
