Eddie Nketiah found the back of the net on his Leeds United debut as the Whites earned a comfortable 3-0 win over League Two side Salford City in the Carabao Cup – and both Ian Wright and Arsenal’s official account reacted.

Nketiah, 20, joined Leeds on a season-long loan on deadline day as the Whites replaced the loss of Kemar Roofe to RSC Anderlecht. The England Under-21 international has delivered huge enthusiasm and optimism at Elland Road.

The England Under-21 international was not part of the side over the weekend, but started for Leeds against Salford on Tuesday night. He scored a tap-in after two excellent passes from Jamie Shackleton and Helder Costa.

Matuesz Klich and Gaetano Berardi also got their names on the score sheet. Arsenal legend Wright and the Gunners’ official website reacted on Twitter after hearing of Nketiah scoring on his debut against side Salford.

TBR’s view – Bielsa headache, Nketiah or Bamford for Leeds?

Leeds travel to Wigan Athletic on Saturday afternoon and will be expected to beat the Latics despite being away from home. But does Bielsa stick to his guns, or throw in Nketiah into the starting line-up?

Bamford struggled against Forest last weekend, hitting the bar and missing glorious chances. He came on against Salford for Nketiah with 13 minutes left, and missed a one-on-one chance.

Bamford is lacking in confidence. But Nketiah has played only once for Leeds and is still learning the Bielsa way. The Argentine has a big dilemma when it comes to picking his striker against Wigan.
