Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice has quickly become a fan favourite at the Emirates Stadium. And the feeling is mutual.
Comedian and Gunners fan Ian Stone has told the Handbrake Off podcast what he’s heard about Rice from Steve Sidwell, who knows the midfielder well.
Rice has been a revelation at Arsenal. Since joining for a record fee, the 24-year-old has gone up a level and taken the Gunners there with him.
On Tuesday, Rice provided a moment for the end-of-season highlight reel, scoring a very late winner in a 4-3 win away at Luton.
As the current talk of the town, the Handbrake Off podcast spoke at length about Rice.

Stone shared what Sidwell told him about the Arsenal summer signing’s thoughts at his new club so far.
“I did an event with Steve Sidwell and he knows Declan Rice well and said that he absolutely loves it here,” said Stone.
“I mean he genuinely, genuinely does. You can see that anyway with the smile on his face.
“I mean obviously you score a 97th-minute winner away from home and go and celebrate in front of your fans.
“But he said he loves it here and I think that togetherness is a big part of it really.”
Declan Rice a legend in the making at Arsenal
Rice has been pretty much flawless for Arsenal thus far, barely putting a foot wrong.
He has been superb in the middle of the park – be it as a number eight or in his usual defensive midfield role.
What has made it even better for the Gunners is how Rice has chipped in with goals.
He scored the winner against Manchester United and now against Luton, and he is proving to be worth every penny.
So much so, in fact, that the one thing that would normally be picked apart by fans, rivals and even the media – his huge price tag – doesn’t even get mentioned.
