Ian Poveda shares excitement to work with Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa

Leeds United’s January addition Ian Poveda has described what attributes he is going to bring to the team, as well as revealing he is “very excited” to work with manager Marcelo Bielsa.

The Whites completed the permanent signing of the attacker on Friday from Premier League outfit Manchester City.

The 19-year-old has made the switch to Elland Road on a four-and-a-half year deal and is going to be a fresh option in the wide roles.

He’s a versatile winger that can play on either flank with his pace and trickery, while he’s built a reputation for himself at youth level as a decent goalscorer.

The English dazzler did manage one first-team appearance during his time at the Etihad Stadium, but has now made the move to really try kick on his senior career.

Povdea has explained that the draw of working with Bielsa is a really exciting prospect for him.

“I’m an attacking player, I can play right wing, left wing or in attacking midfield, I like to dribble with the ball, link up the play, score goals, create chances, assist and I work hard for the team,” Poveda said, as quoted by the club’s official website.

“I’m very excited to work under Bielsa, I know he improves players and that’s what I’m looking to do under his guidance.
