Ian Holloway believes that current Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is the ideal candidate to succeed Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool manager.
There appears to be no harm of Klopp leaving Merseyside anytime soon, as he is still under contract until the end of the 2021/22 season and is regarded as one of the best in the business.
He was appointed Reds boss four years ago and in that time has made his team serious Premier League title contenders, as well as winning one and losing one Champions League final.
The German appears to be the best thing to happen to Liverpool over the last decade and his side currently sit eight points clear in the Premier League table this season.
Pundit Holloway was asked on social media who should eventually replace Klopp at Anfield and gave an emphatic response.
He believes that Liverpool legend Gerrard could have a similar impact as Chelsea legend Frank Lampard, who has returned to Stamford Bridge as manager this campaign and made a flying start by promoting brilliant young players.
“Steven Gerrard all day long. Look at what Frank Lampard’s doing at Chelsea. I think Klopp is a legend but I think Stevie is too,” Holloway wrote on his personal Twitter account.

TBR’s View:
Gerrard is a name that is synonymous with Liverpool after his stellar playing career with them and links to eventually becoming the club’s manager are bound to take place.
The early signs are that Chelsea have made the correct decision with Lampard, but bring back ex-players doesn’t guarantee success.
Liverpool fans should enjoy a golden period with Klopp at the helm and they have a real chance of claiming a first Premier League title if they continue their current form.
In the meantime Gerrard should be allowed to grow into his first managerial spell, where he’s entering his second year at Ibrox as Rangers boss and has certainly bridged the gap to Old Firm rivals Celtic.
