TalkSPORT’s Simon Jordan has admitted he would be ‘gobsmacked’ if reported Arsenal target Ivan Toney doesn’t leave Brentford this summer.

Mikel Arteta’s men were heavily linked with a move for Ivan Toney ahead of the January transfer window.

A move for the Englishman didn’t quite materialise, with the Gunners unable to fund a deal due to FFP restrictions.

Whether or not Arsenal revisit their interest this summer remains to be seen, with Brentford boss Thomas Frank already admitting that Toney is likely to leave.

And Simon Jordan believes Toney will land at a top club for a fee worth around £70 million this summer.

Jordan convinced Arsenal target Toney will leave Brentford this summer

Speaking on talkSPORT, Jordan discussed the possibility of Toney leaving on a free transfer in the summer of 2025.

But the former Crystal Palace chairman believes the striker will head out the door this summer.

“The bottom line is, they’ll be selling him in the summer,” Jordan said. “He’ll be gone in the summer and it’s about how much money Brentford can get from the situation given A, people might use the situation against them. B, they’ve got a clock that’s ticking down.

“But see the other side of it, Ivan Toney wants to go now.”

“He’s going,” Jordan added. “I would be absolutely gobsmacked if Ivan Toney is still [at Brentford]. He’s 27, 28 in March. So, Ivan Toney has made it pretty clear. Thomas Frank knows what’s going on with the situation.”

“I would suspect [he’ll go] for £70 million.”

Toney looks set to leave Brentford this summer and Arsenal are one of many top sides to be linked with the 27-year-old.

Indeed, the likes of Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester United are also said to be keen.

The Englishman has impressed on his return to action following a spell on the sidelines due to breaching FA gambling guidelines.

Toney has netted twice in as many games this term and it will be interesting to see if Arsenal finally firm up their interest in the striker come the summer.
