Everton are currently in the process of strengthening their ranks ahead of their first season at the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium.

So far, the Toffees have made three signings, with Thierno Barry, Carlos Alcaraz and Mark Travers all joining the club this summer.

Travers is Everton’s latest signing, arriving at the club on Tuesday to become their second-choice goalkeeper.

The 26-year-old, a Republic of Ireland international, has joined Everton from Bournemouth for a reported £4million plus add-ons.

After Travers’ signing was announced, a number of Cherries fans took to social media to tell their Toffees counterparts what to expect from him.

Bournemouth fans rave about new Everton signing Mark Travers

The feedback given to Everton fans was positive, with Bournemouth supporters saying he will be a great back-up to Jordan Pickford.

“Top class guy,” one AFCB fan wrote on X.

“Never complained even when he was backup and arguably deserved to be a starter, so many great games when called upon too, Villa away last season springs to mind. Go well Travs!”

Another said: “Will miss Mark terribly, we should have made him our number 1.

“Very sadly though I cannot see how this is any better for Mark than being AFC Bournemouth’s number 2. I thought he wanted more game time.”

The praise for Travers kept coming, with one fan asking: “Why have we done this???”

Another said: “His debut for us was an epic performance!

“It’s stayed with me as one of the best goalkeeping performances I’ve seen in my 41 years of supporting you… he deserves to be first choice somewhere.”

Another wrote: “So sad to see Trav go but wish him all the very best for the future. Top lad, great keeper, and very popular. Everton have got a diamond there.”

Mark Travers delivers honest Jordan Pickford verdict

Pickford has not only written his name in Everton folklore, but he’s also an England legend in the same bracket as Gordon Banks and Peter Shilton.

Travers will be eager to push Pickford all the way, telling the Everton media team: “Jordan is an outstanding goalkeeper for club and country. I’m looking forward to competing with everyone here and being a Premier League player.

“Being in this environment is huge. We’re going to push each other every day in training and whatever happens on the weekend, we’re going to be there for each other and make the most of every opportunity that comes.

“It’s always really exciting to work with a new group and being able to help the younger lads as well. I’ll give it everything. I’ll take pride in doing the right things on and off the pitch and representing this club with a lot of pride.”
