‘I will cry’: Some Newcastle fans erupt after hearing who’s reportedly earmarked for SJP return

A number of Newcastle United fans have been commenting on Twitter about the report linking Magpies legend Kevin Keegan with a return to St James’ Park.

According to The Mirror, Keegan is being considered by the potential new owners of Newcastle for an ambassadorial role.

Newcastle are in the final stages of a takeover bid, with the club now very close to being bought off Mike Ashley.

PCP Capital Partners, headed by Amanda Staveley, have brokered the £300million deal which is being backed by the Saudi Arabian royal family’s Public Investment Fund.

Newcastle’s prospective new owners are expected to have major ambitions upon arriving at St. James’ Park and there is hope that the Magpies would become one of the wealthiest clubs in football.

The Mirror report claims that Keegan, a fan favourite on Tyneside following three stints at the club, is expected to be brought in by the prospective new owners as a gesture of goodwill towards the fanbase.
