‘I was surprised’… Giovani Lo Celso admits he was left shocked by 25-year-old Tottenham player

Tottenham have some incredible players on their books right now.

The likes of Heung-Min Son, James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski are either world-class or bordering on being world-class, but according to Giovani Lo Celso, Spurs have a player who is better than any of those three.

Indeed, speaking on Tottenham’s YouTube channel, Lo Celso has been asked to name who he believes the best player at Tottenham is, and he says that Cristian Romero is in fact the best player at Spurs right now, claiming that he ‘s genuinely been surprised by how good the 25-year-old actually is since playing with him for Argentina and Tottenham.

Lo Celso shocked by Romero

The midfielder spoke about his teammate.

For me it’s Cristian Romero. I’ve said it since the day he arrived and I’ll keep saying it. I was surprised from the first day, first in the national team and then here at the club. The way he integrated and his performance here at the club is still surprising. He deserves everything he has got up to here and everything he will get,” Lo Celso said.

What a player

It’s up for debate as to who Tottenham’s best player is, but Romero is certainly in that conversation.

The World Cup winner has been utterly brilliant for Spurs since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou, and on his day, he can win Tottenham points on his own.

Of course, he has his moments where his discipline lets him down, but when he’s in form and playing his best football, he can stop any opposition attacker with ease.

Romero is a top-class talent, and if he can just finetune his game a little bit more and cut out the silly mistakes, he will be one of the very best players in the Premier League in the near future.

Tottenham are lucky to have Romero, that’s for sure.
