According to Der Spiegel, Bayern Munich defender Niklas Süle is interested in a move to Liverpool or Spurs after WhatsApp messages were leaked.

What’s the story?

Well, the German news outlet believe the €25m (£21m) man is keen to join Spurs or the Reds, after a conversation with Murat Lokurlu – his agent – was revealed.

Süle is alleged to have wrote: “Do you know anyone from Tottenham? I want to go to Tottenham, such a great club. London is a great city. Stadium and fans are brutal.”

Now, that is very interesting news for Tottenham.

Additionally, the centre-back added that he’d also consider a move to Arsenal or Liverpool, while mentioning other English heavyweights.

Süle continued: “Check the offers from England if anyone wants me there. If someone from the big clubs would take me, let me know. Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, but preferably Man U”

The 26-year-old is a brilliant player, one who has racked up 35 caps for Germany and is also a Champions League winner.

Süle is also a four-time Bundesliga champion, a two-time DFB-Pokal winner, and has won both the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.

Liverpool and Tottenham should ignore Niklas Süle

As aforesaid, Süle is a player of real pedigree, and has already achieved a lot in his footballing career.

However, neither Liverpool or Tottenham should make a move for him right now.

Nuno Espirito Santo has just spent £42.5m on Cristian Romero, and can also choose from Japhet Tanganga, Davinson Sanchez or Eric Dier.

In Liverpool’s case, Jürgen Klopp has a strong pairing of Virgil van Dijk and Joël Matip, as well as Joe Gomez, Ibrahima Konate and Nat Phillips in reserve.

In that respect, neither club actually need Süle, and given how much Bayern Munich spent on him, he presumably wouldn’t come cheap.

Regardless of his desires, Nuno and Klopp must ignore his come-and-get-me plea.
