Tottenham Hotspur’s new transfer chief Fabio Paratici is said to be a big fan of Ruben Neves at Wolverhampton Wanderers, by Alasdair Gold on his Youtube channel.
Big fans at Tottenham
Tottenham were tentatively linked with a move for Neves throughout the summer transfer window.
The bid never materialised, but he is a player who apparently is well liked at Spurs.
Nuno has, of course, worked with the Portuguese midfielder before – but it must be noted that Paratici is also said to be a major fan of the deep-lying playmaker.
“Ruben Neves was one which came up. I know like Nuno, Paratici really likes Traore, I understand that both of them really like Neves as well. He has a lot of admirers at Tottenham,” he said.
“But once it became clear that Tanguy Ndombele was staying it became not a chance really.”
Expensive buy
Neves would be a costly purchase for Tottenham, given that The Sun claim he is valued at £35 million by Wolves.
With Ndombele staying it, therefore, does seem sensible that Tottenham didn’t pursue a deal.

While Neves, who has been called ‘world-class’ by Steve Bull (Express and Star), could have been an attractive addition, his arrival would only have forced Ndombele further down the pecking order, and that would have decreased the Frenchman’s value further.
Ndombele’s future is still very uncertain at Spurs though, with Nuno overlooking him to date.
And if he does leave in January, it will be interesting to see if their interest in Neves could be rekindled, given how well liked he is among Tottenham’s hierarchy.
