Tottenham are set to be without James Maddison for a little while now.
The midfielder picked up an ankle injury recently, and he’s been ruled out until the new year.
As you can imagine, Spurs fans are worried that their season could be derailed by the midfielder’s absence, while Fantasy Football players are wondering what they should do with their other Spurs assets.
Speaking on the BBC Fantasy 606 Podcast, Glen Murray has been discussing Heung-Min Son after Maddison’s injury, and, interestingly, the pundit has backed the South Korean to kick onto another level without Maddison in the side, claiming that he was always able to step up within this Spurs team when Harry Kane used to drop out.

Son could improve
Murray gave his verdict on the £22m man.
“I’m not saying that, I’m talking from a Fantasy Football perspective. Will Son have less impact without James Maddison providing him? And therefore is it worth thinking about selling Son and getting others in the team” The host said.
“Why does it have to be a negative? Why isn’t it a positive. Why can’t Son step on from this point? I think he can yeah, apart from last season he always has done when Kane has been missing,” Murray said.
Difficult
Murray is right, Son used to be very good at stepping up without Kane at Tottenham, but he’s playing a very different role now.
Son, now more than ever, is a number nine who feeds off of the chances that are created for him rather than forging his own opportunities, and with Maddison sidelined, the supply chain at Spurs won’t be the same.
It’s not impossible for Son to improve without Maddison in the side, but it is unlikely it has to be said.
