‘I think’: Dan James names what he is most ‘excited’ about after £25m Leeds move
Dan James has admitted that he is excited to learn the Leeds system after his £25m deadline day transfer.
Speaking to the Independent, the 23-year-old Wales international revealed that he is eager to learn Marcelo Bielsa’s style of football.
James completed a dramatic last-minute move after the Elland Road side made a late move for the Manchester United winger.
Indeed, it was one of the most surprising deals of deadline day. Leeds famously missed out on James two years ago when the attacker was still at Swansea City. However, the now-Premier League side have finally got their man.
And James is excited to begin life with Leeds. The winger could be in line to feature for the club on Sunday against Liverpool. And the former United man is excited to learn the ropes of playing in Bielsa’s system.
James said about playing for Leeds: “I’m excited to learn, getting to learn this new system and hopefully contribute to the team.
“I think, as you see, the players now who have played with them since the Championship, they’ve all improved as players. If you ask them, they will definitely say that.”
James to Leeds has been a transfer almost two years in the making. And with the winger finally a part of Bielsa’s arsenal, it will be interesting to see how the Welsh attacker does for the Yorkshire side over the coming season.
