Kai Havertz has really improved in recent weeks at Arsenal.
The German has been making things happen in the final third since moving into his newfound double-false nine role alongside Martin Odegaard.
Havertz has really started to win people round after a shaky start to life at the Emirates.
However, Havertz still has his detractors, and speaking on the Premier League All Access Podcast, Scott Minto did have some veiled praise for the 24-year-old.
The pundit says that Havertz has started working towards justifying his pricetag at Arsenal, but, all in all, he still believes that Arsenal didn’t need to sign the former Chelsea man this summer.

Kai Havertz an unnecessary signing
Minto shared his verdict on the £65m man.
“I wouldn’t call him key, but over the last few games I would say he’s justifying his tag. I still think they didn’t need to buy him, and I stand by that, but he’s stepping up isn’t he?” Minto said.
“Kai Havertz is stepping up, he’s scoring in good moments, he’s getting that confidence and he’s getting more involved. One thing I would’ve said until recently is that if he’s not scoring what is he doing?”
Did they need him?
It’s tough to judge whether or not Arsenal actually needed to sign Havertz this summer.
On one hand, the Gunners did need more midfield depth after letting Granit Xhaka go to Bayer Leverkusen, but, at the same time, there’s a case to be made that Albert Sambi Lokonga could’ve replaced Xhaka in this Arsenal side after doing such a fantastic job with Luton this season.
Havertz cost a lot of money, £65m, and while he is working towards justifying that fee, we can’t help but feel that money could’ve been better spent elsewhere.
Minto does have a point, Havertz may have been a bit of an unnecessary signing, even if he is playing very well right now.
