A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to give their thoughts on Ollie Watkins admitting that moving to the Gunners would be his dream, as reported by the Sports Gazette.
Watkins has been in sensational form for the Championship side this season, weighing in with 22 goals and three assists in the league.
As well as helping him to second place in the league’s top scorer table behind Aleksandar Mitrovic, the 24-year-old’s exploits have also seen him win the EFL Player of the Year award.
After picking up the trophy on Thursday, he was asked by Sports Gazette reporter Callum Room about a prospective move to Mikel Arteta’s side.

“Yeah, the dream. That’s the dream to play for Arsenal one day”, Watkins replied. “But you know, it’s a long shot.”
Given how well Watkins has been doing for Brentford, the added boost of his desire to play for Arsenal has gone down very well with many Gooners.
Here is some of the social media reaction to the goal machine’s comments:
Watkins joined Brentford from Exeter City in the summer of 2017 for an undisclosed fee reported by Transfermarkt to be £1.8million, and 129 competitive appearances for the Bees, has claimed 45 goals and 17 goals, according to the stats website.
The “Ronaldo-type” ace, as Brentford manager Thomas Frank has previously described him in conversation with the Wandsworth Times, is reportedly valued at £25million by the Bees, according to a Sky Sports report from December 2019.
