Tottenham Hotspur defender Sergio Reguilon has been praised by Tim Cahill for his form over the past month.

The Spanish full-back joined Spurs in a £28million deal in the summer transfer window, going on to make 10 appearances in competitions for Jose Mourinho’s men.

Reguilon has impressed in the short time he’s been in North London, helping Tottenham go top of the Premier League table after ten games.

The 23-year-old has started Spurs’ last four league games, including the win over Manchester City and the draw with Chelsea.

Reguilon’s November exploits saw him get second place behind Ben Chilwell in the monthly Sky Sports Power Rankings for full-backs, with a score of 4,914.

Everton and Australia legend Cahill, along with Wycombe striker Adebayo Akinfenwa, selected their Premier League Team of the Month, and the former spoke highly of Reguilon.

“It’s obvious Chilwell has been immense,” Cahill told Sky Sports. “But I really like Sergio Reguilon – a new player.

“The way he’s adapted to England, the team, Jose Mourinho, the style – they’re compact and hit on transition. I really like what he gives to that team.

“Also, he’s played a big part defensively where they had problems earlier in the season.”

Reguilon has been a revelation for Spurs, his superb performances cementing his place as the club’s first-choice left-back and going towards the team doing so well this season.

Mourinho has played a blinder in the transfer market with his acquisition as well as that of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, and long may these performances and results continue.
