A number of Glasgow Rangers fans have welcomed the report in the Daily Record claiming the Ibrox camp is set to offer Ryan Kent a new contract.
The 24-year-old has been in sensational form this season and was especially impressive on Sunday as Steven Gerrard’s charges made light work of Celtic at Ibrox.
Rangers ran out 4-1 winners and Kent ran the show, with the opposition defence simply unable to cope with him.
The Daily Record speculates that English Premier League scouts were on “red alert” following the attacker’s Old Firm masterclass, with Leeds United holding a long-term interest.
And the outlet claims that Rangers will slap a bumper new deal on the table for Kent in a bid to keep the likes of Leeds away from the player.
Gerrard wants Kent on board for the Champions League assault next term and is willing to offer a hike in wages to persuade the wide man to ignore the calls from down south, added the outlet.
Needless to say, the report has gone down well with Bears, some of whom have taken to social media to hope and pray it’s true:
The daily record are saying rangers are giving Ryan Kent a new contract, I pray that is true
