Glasgow Rangers ace Scott Arfield has named Ibrox teammate Alfredo Morelos in his top team of footballers he’s played alongside, in conversation with the Rangers media team.
Morelos is one of the Scottish Premiership’s standout talents, having weighed in with an impressive 77 goals and 29 assists since his move to Ibrox in 2017.
His goals have helped Rangers climb back into the upper echelons of the table and mount title challenges in the past few years.
Arfield, who joined the Gers in the summer of 2018, admits he was left surprised by how good he is and how important he is to the Ibrox side.
“The Buffalo Soldier! He surprised me how good he was,” the Canada international told the Rangers media team.
“Watching him from afar I never realised how quick and how strong he is, and just how important he is to this team. He is absolutely clinical in front of goal.”
It’s not surprising at all to see Morelos make Arfield’s list of the best footballers he’s played with – the Colombia ace is a cut above and a truly fantastic sharpshooter.
Admittedly, his loss of form has been disappointing, but he’s not the only Rangers player to have lost form since the turn of the year.
Despite this and his disciplinary issues, he is believed to be on the radar of four Premier League clubs – Leicester, Newcastle, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa – according to talkSPORT.
It remains to be seen whether Morelos stays or goes – but if it’s the latter, Rangers will struggle to replace such a high-calibre player.
