A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react to the news that Emile Smith Rowe has been added to the England squad for the upcoming international break.

Smith Rowe has been absolutely outstanding during the opening weeks of the season. He went into the weekend having scored three goals in Arsenal’s opening 10 Premier League games.

However, he was initially left out of Gareth Southgate’s latest squad as the Three Lions prepare to face Albania and San Marino this month.

Smith Rowe then went on to score the winner as Mikel Arteta’s side beat Watford on Sunday to move up to fifth in the top flight.

And he has now been rewarded for his recent form. It was announced on Monday that Smith Rowe has been promoted from the under-21s with both James Ward Prowse and Marcus Rashford withdrawing.

It remains to be seen if the 21-year-old gets the chance to make his senior debut. Certainly, there appears to be a very good opportunity with England on the verge of securing qualification for next year’s World Cup.

Understandably, plenty of the Arsenal fans feel that Smith Rowe should have been included in the original squad anyway.

But many have expressed their delight at seeing the academy graduate get the chance to make that step up.

It certainly looks to be a matter of time before he gets that opportunity.
